Thursday May 21, 2015

Boonville High School is excited to announce the hiring of several coaching positions. The Warrick County School Board has approved the appointment of the Assistant Cheerleader Coach, Assistant Athletic Director, Head Girls Soccer Coach and the Head Football Coach for the 2015-2016 school year.

Ms. Abbey Ebenkamp will join Ms. Laura Wallace and Ms. Kimberly Silver to become a part of the Cheerleading Coaching Staff. All three ladies will assume different responsibilities within the staff to better serve our growing cheer squads.

Mr. Jim Miller has been named to the Assistant Athletic Director position. Jim is a graduate of Boonville High School and has worked in the school for many years. He will take over for long time volleyball coach and assistant athletic director Ms. Mary Cox, who has decided to retire at the conclusion of the 2014-2015 school year. We thank Ms. Cox for her many years of service and dedication to the Boonville High School students and its sports teams! Your commitment to your community has been second to none.

Mr. Adam Wadsworth will be taking over for Mr. Brian Kilgour as the new Girls Head Soccer Coach. Mr. Kilgour has transferred to a teaching position at Castle High School. Coach Wadsworth is a graduate of Boonville High School and former BHS Soccer player. He is making the transition from the BHS theater department to the athletic department.

Lastly, Mr. Darin Ward will assume the Head Football Coaching responsibilities for the 2015-2016 School year and beyond. He replaces Mr. James Blankenship who stepped down earlier this spring. Coach Ward has enjoyed head coaching success at Corydon, Crawford County and Charlestown High Schools. Mr. Ward is also a graduate of BHS and looks forward to his return home to lead the Pioneers.

There will be a football player meeting at 3:00 pm on Friday May 22nd in the north bleachers of the football field. Parents are welcome if they are available at that time. Coach Ward is also planning a parent meeting that will take place in the next week or two.

GO PIONEERS!
