Faith Wittman had a busy day at the plate on Monday, smacking five hits in BHS Varsity Softball’s 17-6 victory over Pike Central. Wittman singled in the first, doubled in the third, singled in the fifth, singled in the seventh, and doubled in the seventh.
BHS Varsity Softball tallied 12 runs in the seventh inning. Jayce Purdy, Randi Pryor, Ariel Thomasson, Chloe May, Wittman, and Brooke Allen all drove in runs in the frame.
Thomasson was the winning pitcher for BHS Varsity Softball. She surrendered one run on five hits over six innings, striking out nine. Ashlie Ripperdan threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
BHS Varsity Softball racked up 20 hits in the game. Wittman, Thomasson, Pryor, Purdy, Courtney Knight, and Allen each managed multiple hits for BHS Varsity Softball. Wittman led BHS Varsity Softball with five hits in five at bats.
The Boonville JV team also took the win against Pike Central last night, 9-3. Chloe May and Breilee Gates led the team with 2 hits a piece. Ana Chavez, Cece Blackford, Courtney Knight, Mallory Smith, Jessica Donahoo, Brilee Burdick, and Kiersten Bufkin all added hits to contribute to the victory. Ana Chavez got the win on the mound.
